Frank and Nettie Dyck: missionaries to Ukraine Since Frank Dyck's retirement from teaching, he and his wife, Nettie, have served as missionaries in Germany and Lithuania. Their most recent venture has been to Ukraine, under the European Christian Mission Organization.

As a young person, Dyck had a vision of some day returning to his area of birth in Ukraine as a Christian witness. For years that seemed impossible, but the events of recent years have changed that completely. The Dycks have now lived in the city of Zaporozhye, Ukraine for nearly 3 years. They have placed Bibles in 618 schools, given Bibles and literature to patients and staff in hospitals and to military people. They have been involved in a local Bible school, the local German language Mennonite church, evangelistic services in "Houses of Culture", and have visited villages with the Scriptures.

Nettie has led a very active life working directly with Frank at times, and also conducting a Bible-coffee time in their home. She has hosted many local people and visitors from abroad. She also team teaches English with Frank at the Bible college. The Dycks have a large family in Canada, but now also a large family of another kind in Ukraine.

The Dycks have distributed between 80,000 and 100,000 Bibles or Testaments. Many people have come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ directly or indirectly through their work.

On Jan. 7, the Dycks reported in their home church, Highland MB Church in Calgary. It was clear that retirement from a regular job has opened a wide door of service for the Dycks. They plan to stay in Canada for a few months to resolve some medical problems and to rest, but the excitement and satisfaction with the experiences in the Ukraine were very evident.
