New beginnings in La Salle
La Salle, Man.

The beginnings of a church in the small town of La Salle, Man. took root when several Christian families discovered a common desire for fellowship and outreach.

Several had a sense of mission in seeing the need for a vibrant witness for Christ in this growing community 10 km south of Winnipeg. They began to meet for prayer, fellowship and Bible study.

In consultation with The Navigators, a parachurch outreach organization, a plan was developed in which Ray Klassen would continue his role in church ministries while serving as church planter in La Salle. Eventually, the small group decided to meet for worship. In the fall of 1995, public worship services and children's ministries began in the local school.

"I now find comfort, hope and grace by reading God's Word, by praying to Him and by attending La Salle Community Fellowship and a Bible study group," says a woman named Carolyn who recently became a Christian through one of the group members.

Testimonies like these best summarize the purpose and joy of this ministry.
