What is the CMSF?
The CMSF is the Conference Ministry Support Fund. The Canadian MB Conference asks the MB congregations to pay a certain amount (a norm) to the Conference based on the size of their membership. Currently the norm is $86 per member per year. This money is placed into the Conference Ministry Support Fund, a general fund which is used to support the various Conference ministries. Some boards and agencies also raise funds from congregations and individuals separately--in addition to the CMSF.
What is a biennium?
A biennium is a period of two years. The Canadian Conference budget and ministry year runs from June 1 of one year to May 31 two years later. The Canadian Conference convention is held in July shortly after the beginning of the biennium. This convention approves programs and budgets for the biennium which has just begun.
