Missionfest challenging

Harold Ens had a full weekend April 19-21 at Highland MB Church, Calgary, when he met with different groups from the congregation. At a youth meeting he outlined opportunities through Youth Mission International, while to an older group he spoked of the need to be "re-tired", not just "retired" and to use gifts to teach and build abroad. After an international supper, he gave information on unreached people groups around the world.

Ens used his personal testimony to illustrate how calls to mission come in different ways, but God has given each of us a task. Missions at the end of the 20th century requires us to be aware of the situations in the world. There are cities with populations nearly as large as that of Canada which house the wealthy and sophisticated, as well as the desperately poor. The opportunities for service are practically unlimited.

For many in the church the format of the mission conference was new, but Ens made it an informative presentation, and evidenced a personal commitment to mission.
