Renewed passion among Eden students

St. Catharines, Ont.

During the recent Bible Emphasis week held at Eden Secondary School in St. Catharines, Ont., students were challenged to take a risk and become bolder in their faith.

Blayne Greiner, and a group of high school students from Washington state, spoke in daily chapels throughout the week. The visiting students used drama and testimonials to challenge Eden students to look again at the reality of God and His power.

Gareth Goossen was the worship leader for the week. His sensitivity and enthusiasm in leading worship communicated his personal passion. The week ended with an area-wide Youth Rally held at Orchard Park Bible Church. Many of the youth groups came together to celebrate the goodness of God.

A number of students made commitments to Christ and others reaffirmed their desire to follow Him.

A few students shared their impressions of what is happening at Eden:

"Good things are happening, we've grown closer together. Bible Emphasis was a real encouragement."--Marnie

" Many people made commitments and it brought out leaders within the school. There is a new boldness among students and a new love for God."--Ryan

"You can see that God has been changing many people's lives."--Anita

" People are more open and bold. They are not ashamed to say that they have a relationship with God."--Kathy

"Wow! It's hard to put into words. It's surprising to see how much our school is changing spiritually both in chapels and through relationships."-- Stevie G.

"Many people have come to new realization of who God is and His love for them."--Sherrie
