Concord College president resigns

Winnipeg, Man.

Al Doerksen, chair of Concord College Board, announced the resignation of James Pankratz as president of Concord College effective at the end of the 1996-97 academic year. In his letter to the Board, Pankratz stated that the was fully committed to the current discussions regarding a federation of Mennonite colleges. He said he was confident that during the next year these discussions would result in essential agreement on the mission, scope and character of the new college federation, and that this would be an opportune time to bring new presidential leadership to Concord.

"We are grateful for the leadership James Pankratz has provided during these past eight years. We are pleased that he has agreed to continue his leadership until a successor is named. The board and staff have expressed their hope that he will continue to serve at Concord in another role after his term as president is complete."
