WBI graduates 29

Winkler, Man.

Winkler Bible Institute held its graduation ceremony April 13. Twenty-nine students graduated from the two-year program.

It brought to an end a ministry-filled year in which students participated in a mission team to the US and Nicaragua and a worship team ministered in Manitoba and Ontario.

Discovery Team, WBI's mission team, made up of 10 students and three leaders travelled to Nicaragua to participate in door-to-door witnessing as part of a Church Partnership Evangelism 17-day campaign. They were struck with the openness of people to the gospel and the tangible evidence of God's power as many people came to know the Lord.

One evening, after a sermon on healing, a group prayed for an elderly woman who had been struggling with severe high blood pressure over the past year. When she went to her next doctor's appointment, her pressure had dropped 40 points to within normal range.

Discovery Team also worked for two weeks with MCC reparing homes in Harlan, Kentucky.

WBI Praise Band led praise and worship events in Manitoba, retreats at Camp Arnes and Simonhouse Bible Camp and toured Ontario after graduation. In Ontario, they led an evening worship event along with Gareth Goossen and speaker Blayne Greiner. During this time, over 100 young people came forward to make Jesus the centre of their life. The Praise Band also appeared on the television show, 100 Huntley Street on April 23.
