Music to relax by

Several CDs have come in for review recently that present music to relax with. The first is Something Beautiful with pianists Kurt Kaiser and Don Wyrtzen. They are accompanied by the Ralph Carmichael orchestra. Songs include " Fairest Lord Jesus", "All That Thrills My Soul is Jesus", and of course, the title song, "Something Beautiful". Carmichael calls them "a pool of songs rich with Christian legacy".

Andy Griffith presents a set of old-time gospel songs in his CD I Love to tell the Story - 25 Timeless Hymns. Produced by Sparrow, it includes "The Old Rugged Cross", "Amazing Grace", "Sweet Hour of Prayer" and the title song. By May 28 this album had sold 90,000 copies. "An album of traditional American hymns by one of America's best-loved stars makes a perfect match" according to Scott Hughes of Sparrow Recordings.

Then, if you are into instrumental music from the Smoky Mountains, Smoky Mountain All-Time Greatest Hits, Vols. 1 & 2, are for you. Featuring hand-crafted instruments like a hammered dulcimer, mandolin, fiddle and jaw harp, the CDs include the songs "Just over in Gloryland", "I'll Fly Away", "Amazing Grace" and "You Are My Sunshine".
