Terence Froese began work Aug. 6 as the new pastor at Hope Fellowship Church in Saskatoon. He has a bachelor's degree from Briercrest Bible College and a masters's degree in biblical counselling from Briercrest Biblical Seminary. He has served in three Christian and Missionary Alliance churches over the past 15 years, most recently in Windsor, Ont. His wife, Wanda teaches music from their home, and occasionally works as a substitute teacher. They have five children, Nicholas, 10, Stevie, 8, Jessie, 5, Robyn, 3 and Katrina, 1.

Blake Wagner became pastor of Foothills Community Church in Pincher Creek, Alta., effective July 1, on a three-quarter time basis. He became a Christian in 1985 and was mentored by pastor Leo Siemens of Vauxhall, Alta. Blake served on a one-year missions assignment 1993-94 with Youth With A Mission and has a B.A. in intercultural studies from Prairie Bible Institute. He and his wife Lynda have three children, Karemi, 7, Lorna, 5, and Nolan, 3.

Tim Huebert became associate pastor of worship at Westwood MB Church in Prince George, B.C., effective the beginning of August. He has a B.R.E. from Briercrest Bible Institute in Caronport, Sask. and a Bachelor of Music and music education from the University of Saskatchewan. Since 1994, he has been the interim music director at Bethany Bible Institute in Hepburn, Sask. He has also taught 12 years in the public school system in Saskatchewan. He and his wife Karen have three children, Darren, 12, Kristin, 10, and Jana, 6.

Todd Currie is the new associate pastor of youth at Peace Arch Fellowship in South Surrey, B.C., effective Aug. 15. Previously, he was working in Waterloo, Ont. while his wife Carmelita completed a B.A. in music at Wilfrid Laurier University. He has served as youth pastor at Westwood MB Church in Prince George, B.C. and has interned at Northview Community Church in Abbotsford, B.C. He has a B.A. in Christian ministry, youth major, from Briercrest Bible College.

Brad and Shauna Huebert began serving as full-time youth pastor couple at Winkler (Man.) MB Church, effective mid-August. Brad has served in lay ministry at Portage Ave. MB Church in Winnipeg, serving as a Sunday school teacher and youth leader, and later interned there, serving in junior high ministry. Most recently, he served as youth director at The Meeting Place in Winnipeg. He has a B.A. in youth leadership from Providence College in Otterburne, Man. and has attended a Capenwray school. Shauna has most recently worked at a dental office in Winnipeg.

Kelly Wiebe began serving as associate pastor responsible for caregiving ministries at West Portal MB Church in Saskatoon, part-time, June 16 and full-time in September. He is completing a counselling internship at the Christian Counselling Group in Saskatoon, fulfilling requirements for his master's degree in biblical counselling from Briercrest Biblical Seminary. He also has a B.A. in biblical studies from Winnipeg Bible College in Otterburne, Man. Most recently, he was youth pastor at Dalmeny (Sask.) Bible Church (Fellowship of Evangelical Bible Churches) for six years. Prior to that, he worked for four years at Youth for Christ in Saskatoon. He and his wife Sandie have one son, Bradyn, 3.

Jean-Victor Brosseau has resigned as pastor of the MB Church in St-Eustache, Que. where he has served since 1989. He has been appointed the new Quebec representative for Mennonite Central Committee Canada. Previously, he served as pastor at the St-Donat MB Church 1979-1985. He is a graduate of Institut biblique Laval in St-Laurent, Que., MB Bible College in Winnipeg and MB Biblical Seminary in Fresno, Calif. His wife Annie is editor of Le Lien, the French-language publication of the Canadian MB Conference. They have three children, Jeanne, 18, Eve, 16, and Micael, 11.

David Franco ended his term as pastor of Eglise evangelique F.M. in Charlesbourg, Que., effective April, 1996. He has served with the MB Church in Quebec since 1970 and at Charlesbourg since the birth of the church in 1982. His future plans are undetermined. The Charlesbourg Church, under the direction of the church council, will remain without a pastor for an undertermined time and will be served by visiting preachers. He and his wife Liette have four grown children.

Wes Dahl has resigned as associate pastor of McIvor Ave. MB Church in Winnipeg, effective the end of September, after serving for seven-and-a-half years. He has a diploma in Bible from Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford, B.C., a B.A. from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, B.C., a Diploma of Christian Studies from Regent College in Vancouver, B.C. and an M.Div. from MB Biblical Seminary in Fresno, Calif. His previous ministry was at Parkland Community Church in Yorkton, Sask. He and his wife, Doreen, have three children, Zachery, 9, Luke, 7 and Ezra, 5. They plan to move to B.C., where Wes will become senior pastor at South Langley MB Church, effective Oct. 1.

Daniel Splett resigned as pastor of Gospel Light Church in Carman, Man., effective July 31, after serving over four years. Previously, he had served five years as youth pastor at First Baptist Church in Penticton, B.C. He has a B.R.E. from Briercrest Bible College in Caronport, Sask. and an M.Div. from Talbot Theological Seminary in California. He and his wife Lori have 2 children. They are moving to the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, where Daniel will pastor the United Christian Church of Dubai, an English-speaking church serving expatriate workers from 30 countries. They are partially supported as vocational missionaries by MB Missions/Services.

Andy Jones has resigned as youth pastor of Elmwood MB Church in Winnipeg, effective July 31, after serving just over two years. Previously, he served in youth ministry at Bethany Chapel in Calgary. He and his wife Cyndi are graduates of Briercrest Bible College in Caronport, Sask. They have two sons, Logan, 2, and Braden, 3 months. They have moved to Edmonton, where he is associate pastor of youth at Central Baptist Church.

Markus Deutsch has resigned as associate pastor for youth and music at West Portal MB Church in Saskatoon, effective the end of August. He and his family plan to move back to Steinbach, Man. and are considering ministry abroad. A native of Germany, he previously served for a year with Janz Team Ministries in Europe, spent four years studying and apprenticing in sales and interior decorating; and then studied music and Bible for two years at Bibelschule Bergstrasse in Germany. He and his wife, Marilee have one daughter, Christie-Joy, 2.

Peter and Betty Boschman have completed their interim pastoral ministry at Foothills Community Church in Pincher Creek, Alta., effective mid-June, after serving six months. Prior to this ministry, he had been pastor of LaGlace (Alta.) Bible Chapel for almost 10 years. He has pastored several other MB churches in B.C., Saskatchewan and Manitoba. He studied at Northwest Baptist Theological College, took correspondence courses from Moody Bible Institute and studied for one semester at MB Biblical Seminary. He has served as moderator of the Saskatchewan MB Conference, has been a member of the Canadian MB Conference Board of Evangelism and a member of the Alberta MB Conference Board of Church Extension. The Boschmans have six children and several grandchildren.

George and Mary Baerg completed their interim pastoral ministry July 31 at Winkler (Man.) MB Church, after serving two years. He served as interim associate pastor from Aug. 1, 1994 to Feb. 28, 1995 and as interim lead pastor from July 1, 1995 to July 31, 1996. He retired in 1992 after 16 years of teaching at Winkler Bible Institute. He has served as interim pastor for many summers at Grace Church of the Mennonite Brethren in Cranberry Portage, Man. and has also served in interim ministries at Christian Centre Fellowhip in Thompson, Man. and in Lynn Lake, Man. Neil Block began ministry as senior pastor of Winkler MB Church Aug. 1.

Colleen Hoeppner has been hired as Winkler Bible Institute's recruitment director, effective in April. She has attended WBI and Trinity Western University, and has a diploma in business administration from Red River Community College in Winnipeg. Jamie Rogalsky has been hired as dean of men and sports director. He is a graduate of WBI, and has a B.Ed. in physical education from the University of Manitoba. He has previously coached Concord College's men's basketball team. He and his wife Charlotte began work on Aug. 15. Music director Doug Friesen, who has served for the past eight years, has resigned and has accepted a pastoral music assignment in Grand Forks, N.D.

Parliament Community Church held an ordination service June 2 for associate pastor Dan Harder and his wife Helen. Saskatchewan MB Conference Minister Ralph Gliege preached on <210>It's Your Serve<211> from John 13:1-17. Pastor Harry Strauss led Dan and Helen through the ordination and commitment responses. They were prayed over, and their son Christopher presented Dan with the certificate of ordination. Twenty-eight people participated in a SALT International orientation held at Mennonite Central Committee headquarters in Akron, Pa. July 8 to 12. SALT (Serving And Learning Together) International is a one-year MCC program for young adults interested in living, learning and working overseas. Among those who took part in the orientation were: Laurel Terichow of Winnipeg. She is beginning a one-year assignment as an office worker for Habitat for Humanity in Dumaguete, Philippines. Terichow attended the University of Manitoba and was last employed as a doughnut decorator at Robins Donuts in Winnipeg and as a waitress at Tavola Calda in Winnipeg. She is affiliated with The Meeting Place in Winnipeg and with Morden (Man.) Evangelical Mennonite Church. Julie Thielmann of Abbotsford, B.C., is beginning a one-year assignment as a secondary school teacher in Zambia. She has a B.A. in home economics from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. She last worked at a duty free shop in Abbotsford. She is affiliated with Granville Chapel in Vancouver and with Central Heights MB Church in Abbotsford. Julianne Wolfe of Black Creek, B.C., is beginning a one-year assignment in Indonesia, where she will teach English and music for six months at Duta Wacana Christian University in Yogyakarta, and teach English for six months at Dalatus in Semerang. She is a member of Black Creek MB Church and is affiliated with United Mennonite Church in Black Creek.

Shawn and Kelly Neumann of Abbotsford, B.C. began service in June as communications associates at Mennonite Economic Development Associates in Kansas City. Shawn works full-time, and Kelly works half-time. They will explore internet possibilities, create interactive computer programs for members, develop data base profiles and produce video resources for local chapters. Shawn has a commerce degree; Kelly holds a degree in education and has taught English as a Second Language. They also own and operate Sola Fide Imports, which markets handmade Lithuanian crafts. They are members of Bakerview MB Church in Abbotsford.

Myron and Connie Dyck of Altona, Man., left for Cochabamba, Bolivia in mid-July as support staff with SIM. Connie will be teaching grade four at Carachipampa School and Myron will be maintaining and repairing several recording studios in the country. He will also be involved in the possible set up of a new radio station once it is approved by government. This is presently an 11-month assignment with an orientation session in Charlotte, N.C. during the first two weeks of July. They are members of South Park MB Church in Altona.

East Aldergrove MB Church in Aldergrove, B.C. presented a musical Mar. 10 performed by the primary and junior Sunday School classes. About 55 children participated in telling the story of Gideon in the musical, <210>Zeroes to Heroes<211>.

Philadelphia MB Church in Watrous, Sask. held a surprise pastor appreciation service for Ernie and Irene Bergen and their daughter, Rachel. Saskatchewan conference minister Ralph Gliege presented the sermon and members of the congregation presented tributes and musical numbers. The service was followed by a fellowship lunch.

Sardis (B.C.) Community Church welcomed four new members by baptism May 26: Kevin Isaac, Megan Orr, Ted Young and Jean Young.

Cornerstone Community Church in Surrey, B.C. welcomed two new members by baptism June 16, Ruth Wainwright and Cindy Hamelin.
