All these factors contributed to an excellent program, but what really kept us going was our theme. Between the assortment of shoes dangling off the ceiling, and the footprints on the wall was a banner proclaiming "Step out with God".
Over the course of the six-week program, 472 campers and 33 staff experienced the beauty of God's creation and the beauty of new and old friendships. Of those campers, 40 made first-time commitments to follow God, many made recommitments and all had opportunity to be changed by the overwhelming love of our Heavenly Father.
Wide games, Bible studies, skits, singing, chapel, activities and tuck made for a whirlwind of a day. During certain weeks we offered horsemanship as well as biking and basketball clinics. Regular activities included rocketry, wilderness, survival and hiking, canoeing, pond studies, riflery, crafts, ropes and obstacle course, archery, orienteering and swimming.
