The path unknown
David Wipf
The darkness hides the path ahead;
The stones we cannot see.
So many struggle on life's road,
Complaining shamefully,
Trembling, grumbling, stumbling on,
Waiting for the light to dawn!
The light has dawned, for Christ has said,
"I am the dark world's light."
Then why continue in the dark?
Without Him, it is night!
So, as another New Year dawns,
May we walk close to Him;
The dazzling glory of His light
Will make all else grow dim;
His beaming, gleaming, streaming Light
Will shine, and make the pathway bright!
Still upward by my onward course--
For this I pray today--
Still upward as the years go by
And seasons pass away,
Still upward in this coming year--
My path is all untried--
Still upward may I journey on
Close by my Saviour's side.
David Wipf was a member of Armstrong (B.C.) Bible Chapel. After he passed away June 13, 1996, this poem was found among his possessions. It is thought to be written by him.
