Herman Kroeker has prepared a daily devotional book A Life for Living, based on radio messages given over a period of 17 years. Kroeker is a retired Mennonite Brethren pastor. The devotionals are short, easily read, and always have a suggested Scripture reading to go with them. In his preface, he credits the many authors he has read over the years of his ministry.

Joanne Kroeker has written the first volume of a biography of her father, Abe Kroeker, entitled Shiny Shoes on Dusty Paths. It is subtitled The Polishing of Grace. Each chapter heading continues the shoes theme. Abe Kroeker was a missionary in Africa for many years. The story chronicles his life prior to becoming a missionary and then many of the experiences encountered by the family while pioneering in Zaire in the 1930s. As Warren Wiersbe states on the back cover, "This remarkable book will teach you about the Christian life while entertaining you with an incredible family saga." Joanne Kroeker gleaned stories from her father from many father-daughter chats, from diaries and from interviews.
