Director of Food Services dies

Hepburn, Sask.

Bethany Bible Institute, Hepburn, Sask., is sad to announce the passing away of Marnie Unger on January 18. Marnie was killed in a vehicle accident just outside of Saskatoon. A memorial service was held at Bethany on January 23. Approximately 600 students, friends and relatives came to remember the life of Marnie Unger. Many people shared their appreciation for Marnie.

Marnie, together with her husband Harry, moved to Hepburn in 1969. She served as Bethany's Dean of Women from 1969-71. From 1988-92 Marnie served as a part-time cook in the kitchen and from 1992 to the present she was director of food services.

Marnie had a listening ear for many students and staff. She was a person who genuinely cared. She also did her work well. Marnie had a reputation for good food selection and preparation. She always wanted to do something special for the students. She was an individual who went beyond the call of duty. The students and staff of Bethany will miss her cheerful laugh and encouraging words.
