Introduction
Mennonite World Conference is an umbrella organization for Mennonites all around the world. About every six years, it hosts a major Assembly, attracting thousands of people. Assembly 13 was held Jan. 6-12 in Calcutta, India. (The Assembly itself was preceded and followed by "Assembly Scattered", visits by Mennonites from around the world to Mennonites in India and other parts of Asia.) The Mennonite Brethren Herald partnered with its sister publication in the United States, The Christian Leader, sending Christian Leader editor Don Ratzlaff to cover the event for both periodicals. This issue also contains articles from Meetinghouse, an association of North American Mennonite editors; attending the conference for Meetinghouse were Paul Schrag, editor of Mennonite Weekly Review, and J. Lorne Peachey, editor of Gospel Herald.
