Ron Braun has resigned as senior pastor of Yarrow (B.C.) MB Church, effective this spring, after serving for eight years. Previously, he served as associate pastor at North Kildonan MB Church in Winnipeg for seven years and in follow-up ministry for Camp Arnes in Manitoba for 10 years. He has also served on the B.C. MB Conference Board of Camping Ministries. He is a graduate of Winkler Bible Institute and has a B.R.E. from Winnipeg Bible College and an M.A. from MB Biblical Seminary. He and his wife Marion have two grown daughters. They are open to further ministry.
Merv Boschman has resigned as senior pastor of Fraser Heights Community Church in Surrey, B.C., effective July 31. He has served the church as church planter/pastor since its beginning five years ago. It being 25 years since they first entered full-time ministry, Merv and his wife Carol plan to spend a year refocussing and retooling at MB Biblical Seminary in Fresno, Calif. Both are graduates of MB Bible Institute (now Columbia Bible College). Merv bagan ministry as an associate pastor for youth at Willingdon Church in Burnaby, B.C. He then earned a B.A. from Fresno Pacific College, served as an administrator at FPC for three years, served as church planter/senior pastor of Northview Community Church in Abbotsford, B.C. for six years, was associate pastor at Forest Grove Community Church in Saskatoon for four years and served for one year as interim executive director of evangelism for the Canadian MB Conference. He has also earned a M.Min. from Associated Canadian Theological Schools. The Boschmans have two sons, Nelson, who is a part-time associate pastor at Fraser Heights, and Chris, who is married with one daughter.
Doug Schulz has resigned as senior pastor of Cedar Park MB Church in Ladner, B.C., effective Aug. 31, 1997, after serving for five years. He earned a B.R.E. from Briercrest Bible College, B.R.S. from MB Bible College, B.A. from the University of Winnipeg and B.Ed. from the University of Western Ontario. He then taught at Beacon Christian High School in St. Catharines, Ont. for four years, earned an M.Div. from Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary, served for two years as registrar at MB Bible College and taught for five years at MB Collegiate Institute in Winnipeg. His wife Annie is a music teacher and has a B.A. from the University of Winnipeg and B.R.S. from MB Bible College. They have three children, Heidi, 16, David, 14, and Tim, 12. Doug is currently seeking creative employment alternatives.
Gerry Goertzen resigned in November as associate pastor for counselling ministries at Cariboo Bethel Church in Williams Lake, B.C., after serving for over six years. He has a bachelor's degree in counselling from Briercrest Bible College and a master's degree from Winnipeg Theological Seminary. He and his wife Dayle have three children. Goertzen has returned his ministry licence to the B.C. MB Conference and is now seeking secular employment.
Andrew and Martha Dyck were installed as associate pastor couple for music and care groups at King Road MB Church in Abbotsford, B.C. July, 28, 1996. B.C. MB Conference minister Ike Bergen spoke on the topic "I have a dream".
