He was previously principal at Dunach Elementary School in Abbotsford and has also served for eight years as vice-principal in various schools. He has an M.Ed. in administration from the University of Victoria. His wife Ruth is a teacher at MEI high school. The Froeses have two children, Aaron and Larissa, who are students at MEI high school. The Froeses attend Central Heights MB Church in Abbotsford.
The MEI elementary school was opened five years ago, offering only kindergarten. A grade has been added each year, and the school now has 131 students in kindergarten to grade 4. p Until now, the elementary school has been meeting in portables on the MEI high school campus. However, an elementary school is now under construction on the campus and will be ready for occupancy by September. With these new facilities, the school will offer a complete program from kindergarten to grade 7. MEI had planned to begin with one class in each grade. However, demand has been so high that it will have two classes in each grade (and three kindergarten classes, which have a higher teacher/student ratio). This means that the new elementary building will be virtually at capacity in its first year.
