Tehila Ministry at Elmwood MB
Winnipeg, Man.
On Saturday, September 6, Tehila Night hit the outdoors. Set up in the church parking lot, and surrounded by neighbouring homes, the Saturday night praise and worship group ministered to church members and visitors from the local community. Tehila Night started a number of years ago as a way to worship God in a less structured way and attract to people to church that may not come on a Sunday morning.
The word "Tehila" is derived from the Hebrew word "Tephellah", meaning praise and worship. The aim of the Tehila ministry is to glorify God and to build the church. Its uniqueness is apparent in a number of factors--the Saturday evening slot (the last Saturday of every month); an hour and a half of today's contemporary music; and a cafe where people can relax, visit and feel welcome, while also, at times, listening to live music.
This was the start of a new year for the group, consisting of Matthew Bartel, Alison Enns, Marni Enns, Lloyd Martens, Dan Raposo, Jim Warner and Karen Warner, and they wanted to try something a little different. Thankfully the weather cooperated and there was a wonderful evening of worship and relaxation.
