NYC 99 Promotion Underway

Promotional and registration materials are being mailed to all Mennonite Brethren churches in preparation for NYC 99, the National Youth Convention. Youth leaders will receive a Starter Kit from the CE Ministries office early in January. With the convention slated to begin December 30, 1998, youth groups have a year to get ready. Dave Wiebe, Director of CE Ministries, and Convention Coordinator, says a lot of calls have come in to the office asking about the event. Interest is high throughout the MB conference.

Part of the promotion includes a personal mailing to all youth eligible to come. Youth groups have supplied lists of youth in Grades 9-11 in this current school year.

The National Youth Convention happens every three years. It will be held in the Banff Centre again. In an exit poll taken at Banff 95, the 500 evaluations returned indicated unanimously that the event should return to that location.
