Evangelistic music and speaking ministry (concerts, evangelistic outreaches, retreats, banquets, training seminars, worship leading etc.).
Sam Rowland travels across North America and the world with a single mission: to encourage men and women everywhere to discover hope and meaning in their lives by developing a life changing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Personal Data: Sam has been married for eleven years to his best friend, Rita. They have four children: Tanaya (10), Dana (8), Taylor (3), and little Hannah (1).
Musical Influences: rhythm & blues, The Partridge Family, gospel, pop, The Brady Bunch, rock, Josie and the Pussycats, classical, Chicago, Russ Taff. Every piece of music I have ever heard has influenced me in some way.
Musical Style:
R&B influenced gospel pop with very subtle new country overtones.
What do you listen to these days?:
Mostly my wife and children..."Honey, what do you say we paint Taylor's room?"
Dad, are you driving me to soccer tonight?" Daddy, I wub you!"
What do you listen to on the road?:
I listen to everything I can. I try to pick up music from overseas groups when I'm out of the country. I find it very interesting. Got some great music by a Christian blues singer from New Zealand whom I met in Denmark this year. We shouldn't listen only to radio's "Top Ten". There is a lot of great music by Christians from all over the world.
What are you reading right now?:
The Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence, The Discipline of Grace, Jerry Bridges and Who You are When No One's Looking, Bill Hybels.
Theological/Spiritual Influences:
My studies at Regent College with Gordon Fee, Bruce Waltke, Michael Card, et. al., pastor Brad Julihn at my home church, my four children.
