The morning message was given by a former Lanigan youth, Aubrey Krahn, who now pastors the Community Fellowship Church in Newton, Man. He challenged those present to see each other through "spiritual eyes". He emphasized God's faithfulness, saying it is God who caused the work to grow.
A delicious moon meal was served to 197 people. The afternoon service included slides, a mass choir of former and present members, testimonies from three former members and one present member of what CFC meant to them, a multimedia presentation, an offering for missions and "Reflections" by Lawrence Redekop, the first pastor of CFC. Redekop shared how the work got started and said that the work is the Lord's, not the congregation's. God had in place and put in place people at the right time for the jobs that needed to be done. Redekop also recognized other churches, including Philadelphia MB Church in Watrous, Sask., which helped the young church. He encouraged the congregation to continue fulfilling its mission statement--to glorify God and make disciples for Jesus Christ in the community, the surrounding area and the world.
