Then, after graduating from Fresno Pacific, he became that school's Director of Admissions and Recruitment for three years. Returning to B.C., Merv became the founding pastor of Northview Community Church in Abbotsford, B.C., where he served 1981-87. He served as associate pastor at Forest Grove Community Church, Saskatoon, 1987-91, after which he filled in as interim executive director for the Canadian MB Conference Board of Evangelism 1991-92. Boschman's most recent assignment was as church planter/pastor at Fraser Heights Community Church in Surrey, B.C. 1992-97.

Merv is known for his warm relational skills and sensitivity to the needs of people. His ministry goal is to be faithful as a model and a servant leader.
