Saskatchewan MBs on cutting edge

Saskatoon, Sask.

The fourth annual "Sharpen Your Cutting Edge" seminar was held February 14 in West Portal Church, Saskatoon. About 200 people attended the 20 workshops that were given during the all-day event. Each participant was able to attend three workshops plus a noon banquet presentation.

The seminar, planned by the four Saskatchewan MB Conference boards, helps church workers within the Conference's 30 churches enhance their ministry skills. Special guests were Jim and Shirley Holm. Holm is the Dean of Students at MB Biblical Seminary in Fresno, Calif., and serves as the Director of Constituency Relations. He spoke on the topics "The Worth of a Woman", "The Value of a Man" and "The Marks of a Healthy Marriage". Holm spoke at the noon banquet presentation on the theme of forgiveness. The nine-member Youth Worship team from Parliament Community Church, Regina, led celebrative singing at the banquet and also presented a workshop called "Dynamics of Praise and Worship Leading".

Other workshops dealt with care group ministry, help for Sunday school teachers, phone ministry, financial matters and caring for the poor. Plans for next year's seminar are already being made.
