Information

Convention 98 will be hosted by Willingdon Church in Burnaby, BC. Registration will begin at 11:00 a.m. on July 9 for pastors and spouses, and continues throughout the day. A Prayer Concert will begin at 4:00 p.m. The first worship session begins at 7:00 p.m.

Fees include registration and all meals and refreshment breaks.

A. Billeting: Will be offered by Vancouver area families. Please indicate this choice on the Registration Form.

Food Services

Willingdon provides exceptional food service. All meals are provided from Thursday lunch through Saturday Banquet and are included in the Convention cost. For those attending the Saturday Banquet only, costs are $16.00 for adults and youth, $3.50 for children, and $3.00 for child care. To attend banquet only, you must pre-register.

Youth Track (up to grade 12)

We anticipate an exciting time for future delegates at Convention Ô98. Activities planned include Pizza & Video Kick-off, Waterslides and Wonderworld. Entire Youth package, including meals, travel and activities, is $70.00.

Children's Program

(Note: childcare is only offered for the three evening sessions)

Three options available for Nursery- to Elementary-aged children: Nursery - Security checked personnel - Ratio 1:4 Preschool - T-shirt, daily snack, crafts, games, etc. and meals: $30.00 Elementary - T-shirt, snacks, 2 field trips, crafts and meals: $35.00

Ministry Workshops

Friday afternoon will allow you to discuss the program areas of our Conference Ministries. Each delegate will be able to choose two of the six Canadian Conference ministry areas. The Executive Board will also have a workshop this year. All recommendations will be dealt with in Plenary Sessions Saturday, but discussion is welcome in these informal meetings.

Networks/Training Sessions

Friday morning will provide for small group interaction in Networks (as at Convention '96) and Training Sessions. Delegates may choose either one 2-hour Network or two 1-hour Training Sessions from the lists below. Please enter these numbers on the Registration Form on the bottom of page 26. Saturday Banquet

The Banquet will conclude our convention this year, featuring speaker Terry Winter. An offering will be designated for Church Planting 75% and Christian Education Ministries 25%.

Worship Sessions

Thursday and Friday evening will be celebrative and instructive in nature. Terry Walling, author of the ReFocusing Churches material will speak both evenings. The theme, "The Master's Flight Plan - Healthy Growing Churches Reaching Their Worlds", will be our focus. An offering for MBMS International and IBL in Quebec will be received on Thursday, and we will share communion Friday night.

Delegate Selection

We encourage all churches to send a full complement of delegates (1 delegate for every 25 members or remaining fraction thereof). Come and celebrate God's work, be inspired through a growing sense of renewal within our churches, and help shape our ministries for the next generation. Please join us for the prayer concert on July 9 as we pursue "The Master's Flight Plan".
