    What's New

  • Family Quest: This is a partner ministry with SOAR Pacific. Families with young children are invited to participate in, and be trained for, inner-city ministry in California and Nevada. They will have biblical and creative training in puppetry, interactive stories and parental issues and be able to participate in carnivals, Vacation Bible School and other ministry activities. This is a great opportunity for families to join together in serving and learning about the faithfulness of God.
  • Regionalization of SOAR: In order to accommodate the growing numbers interested in this program, SOAR has become regionalized. We now have SOAR locations in the Northeast, Midwest and Pacific regions, as well as a special SOAR Easter, which targets Tijuana, Mexico over the spring break.
  • Volume Increases: YMI anticipates an increase of 300% in participation in 1998. Having served about 350 participants last year, we expect 900 in 1998.
  • Cooperation with Institutions: YMI is actively involved with Concord College, Columbia Bible College, Bethany Bible Institute, Tabor College, Fresno Pacific University, Eden High School and Mennonite Educational Institute. The schools assist in recruiting participants as well as in hosting and facilitating programs year round.
