MennoLink, probably the most widely used Mennonite location on the Internet for discussion groups, has announced an expansion to its pastors' discussion groups to be moderated by Phil Kniss, pastor of Park View Mennonite Church, Harrisonburg, Virg. This will be open to pastors of all denominations. Kniss will also moderate a group for integrating Mennonite Church pastors. A Mennonite Brethren pastors group is also being started. 45% of Internet users today are women. Predictions are that by 2000 more women will online than men. Campus Crusade has a web site at http://www.crusade.org/wto with articles on discipleship, tips on witnessing and improving prayer life, to help women grow spiritually.

Campus Talk, located at http://www.compustalk.com is designed to help students find a Christian college that will meet their needs. It has information on 140 Christian colleges and universities with details like majors, size, cost and location.

A web site about how Canadian journalists cover faith is located at www.escape.ca/~jclong. The site includes a study which examines whether journalists pay insufficient attention to the role of spirituality and organized religion in Canadian society and culture.

Games That Byte: Helping Youth Evaluate Computer Games, by Cornelia Penner and sponsored by Games Project (MCC Ontario) is a hands-on curriculum that helps youth evaluate video games. Available from Faith & Life Press, Newton, Kan.

Winnipeg singer, Steve Bell, won the 1998 Juno Award for Best Gospel Album for his fifth album, "Romantics & Mystics". The Junos, the music award recognizing Canada's best artists, presented this award for the first time this year. Bell's lyrics are inspired by the vast numbers of books he reads, particularly as he explores the relationship between man and God. He has built a reputation as one of Canada's most successful independent musicians. Bell travels throughout Canada, as well as overseas and his music is available in both Christian and mainstream music shops.

Robert Duvall's "The Apostle", dominated the 13th Independent Spirit Awards in March, winning three prizes. Duvall's portrayal of a southern preacher's pursuit of redemption was honoured as best feature, and Duvall was honoured as best director and best male lead. The awards honour independent films made outside the major Hollywood studios. The film has been acclaimed by Christian film critics.

The controversial television drama "Nothing Sacred", is being cancelled. The program, which featured a liberal Catholic priest who doubts God's existence and rejects most of the church's social teaching, had drawn sharp criticism from the Christian community.
