Concord College graduates 18

WINNIPEG, MAN.

Concord College in Winnipeg held its convocation April 19. Eighteen students graduated. One student graduated with a Bachelor of Religious Studies degree, seven with the Bachelor of Christian Studies degree, two with the Bachelor of Church Music degree, five with the Foundation Studies degree and three with the Foundation Studies certificate.

In his address, John Unger, pastor of Richmond Park MB Church, Brandon, Man. stated, "The one thing that characterizes this graduating class is its leadership. Three student body presidents in one graduating class. And, next year's president is among those receiving a diploma. Every single one of you have exercised leadership either on student council or in significant leadership roles in your local churches, not to mention camps, urban and cross-cultural ministries."

Carolyn Goossen gave the valedictorian address. Using the apostle Paul's metaphor of running a race, she encouraged her classmates to remember they now have the "proper tools needed to run every race with perseverance."

Harry Olfert, president of Concord College, confirmed these words when he said, "Friends, we have before us a group of men and women who are taking seriously the challenge to integrate the teachings of Scripture with studies and all of life."
