The Committee of Reference and Counsel of the Manitoba MB Conference has announced the appointment of Herb Kopp as conference minister. Herb and Doris will begin their ministry in spring 1999. Their areas of ministry will include: caregiving: shepherding pastors and churches; casting vision: helping cast and articulate the vision of the Conference and executive; and coordinating conference ministries. Herb has been pastor at McIvor Ave. MB Church in Winnipeg since summer 1995.
The Board of Missions and Church Extension of the Manitoba MB Conference has appointed Ray Klassen as MCE director, beginning Nov. 16. Klassen has had many years of experience as a worker with the Navigators university ministry. Since 1989, he has headed the Navigators Church Discipleship ministries in Manitoba. During the last three years, he has divided his time between the Navigators and serving as a church planter with MCE in La Salle, Man. Ray and his wife Chris have three children, Jordan, 17, Lorien, 14, and Nathan, 11.
