Ted Goossen has been called as associate pastor of Winkler (Man.) MB Church, effective in summer. His primary responsibilities will be in the area of family ministries. Currently, he is director of Simonhouse Bible Camp near Cranberry Portage, Man. The camp is owned and operated by the Manitoba MB Conference. Ted has been director of the camp for the last 14 years. He started in September 1985 working as part-time pastor at Grace Church, Cranberry Portage, and part-time director of the camp. In 1996, he became full-time director. He served as director of Winkler Bible Camp 1975-85. He was ordained in Winkler MB Church. He graduated from Winkler Bible School, and has a B.A. from the University of Manitoba and an M.Div. from Winnipeg Theological (now Providence) Seminary in Otterburne, Man. He and his wife Mary have four children, Jon, 23, Jodine, 22, Joshua, 18, and Sara, 16.
Jacob Pauls has been hired as associate pastor of Elmwood MB Church, Winnipeg, effective June 15. His responsibilities will be overseeing German and caregiving ministries, including visitation. Recently, he resigned as senior pastor of Clearbrook MB Church in Abbotsford, B.C. (See MBH, Jan. 22.)
David Wiebe, director of Christian Education Ministries for the Canadian MB Conference, is on sabbatical leave Feb. 15 to May 15. He will be taking a modular course toward a Doctor of Ministry degree through Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Deerfield, Ill., offered at Associated Canadian Theological Schools (ACTS) in Langley, B.C. He also will be working with Wesleyan Church ministries in Indianapolis, Ind., to study the adult ministry strategies they have been using in their denomination. In addition, Wiebe will engage in a refocusing exercise related to his 10 years of ministry as director of CEM, reviewing ministry highlights, assessing ministry values of the CEM board and developing a five-year plan for this ministry. David has an M.Div. from MB Biblical Seminary, Fresno, Calif., and a B.R.S. from Winnipeg Bible (now Providence) College in Otterburne, Man. He and his wife Val have three children, Julia, 20, Joe, 18, and Greg, 17.
Walter Reimer is serving as part-time interim senior pastor at Steinbach (Man.) MB Church Feb. 1 to July 31 while Norm Neufeld is on sick leave. Previously, Reimer was pastor in Killarney (Man.) Mennonite Church for six years and Blumenort (Man.) Evangelical Mennonite Church for six-and-a-half years. He served as a missionary and church planter in east Paraguay with EMC missions. For seven years, he was a school teacher in southern Manitoba and the Interlake district of Manitoba. He has a B.A. from the University of Manitoba and an M.A. from Providence Theological Seminary, Otterburne, Man. Originally from the Steinbach area, he met his wife Margaret while teaching in Riverton, Man. They have two sons and two granddaughters.
Cory Anderson has resigned as associate pastor at Bridgeway Community Church in Swift Current, Sask., effective Feb. 21. He has been a pastor at the church since May 15, 1994. He will become associate pastor in High River (Alta.) Baptist Church Mar. 15. Originally from Vancouver, Anderson has a B.A. in theology from Briercrest Bible College in Caronport, Sask. He plans to work towards a Masters degree through Prairie Graduate School in Calgary. He and his wife Trina, originally from Herbert, Sask., have two children, NaTanya, 2, and Nathanael, 6 months.

Bob Rempel has resigned as associate pastor of Kitchener (Ont.) MB Church, effective June 30, after serving for four-and-a-half years. He has a B.A. from the University of Winnipeg, an M.Div. from MB Biblical Seminary and a Ph.D. from Trinity International University (formerly Trinity Evangelical Divinity School) in Chicago. He was formerly associate pastor of McIvor Ave. MB Church in Winnipeg, interim Christian education director for the Canadian MB Conference and senior pastor of College Drive Community Church in Lethbridge, Alta. He and his wife Bonnie, a nurse, have two daughters, Kora, 15, and Kym, 13. They plan to stay in Kitchener while he pursues other employment.
Adam Wiggins has resigned, effective April 30, after seven years as senior pastor of Eastview Community Church in Winnipe. Previously, he pastored Vauxhall (Alta.) MB Church for five years and Hays (Alta.) Gospel Church. He was pastoral intern in Cariboo Bethel Church in Williams Lake, B.C., Fraserview MB Church in Richmond, B.C. and Peace Arch Fellowship in Surrey, B.C. He has a B.Sc. from the University of Victoria and an M.Div. from Northwest Baptist Theological Seminary, and has studied at MB Biblical Seminary. Currently a member of the Canadian MB Conference Board of Evangelism, he is sensing God's call to plant a new church. He and his wife Sandi have three children, Katrina, 11, Joshua, 9, and Anneliese, 7.
John Neufeld has accepted a call to become assistant senior pastor at Willingdon Church in Burnaby, B.C., probably beginning in August. He plans to complete four years of ministry as senior pastor of Bakerview MB Church in Abbotsford, B.C. in June. He previously was an instructor at Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford for two-and-a-half years and was church planter and pastor at Peace Arch Fellowship in South Surrey, B.C. for eight-and-a-half years. He also pastored part-time in Saskatchewan and California while studying. He has a diploma from Columbia Bible College, a B.A. in psychology from the University of Saskatchewan and an M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary in California, and is working toward a D.Min. at Trinity oraleen. They are open to further ministry.
Since last June, senior high youth pastor Lyndon Plett has also been leading worship at Central Heights MB Church in Abbotsford, B.C. The church has now called him to be full-time worship pastor. He will continue to carry dual responsibilities probably until summer, when another senior high youth pastor will be hired. Beginning at the church in May, 1991, he has served for a year as intern junior high pastor, five years as junior high pastor and two years as senior high pastor. He has a B.A. in pastoral studies from Briercrest Bible College; he has also taken some seminary training and plans to take further part-time studies in music. His wife Doretha has a B.A. in Christian education from Briercrest. They have three children, Teagan, 4, Jadon, 3, and Josiah, 1.
Hildegard Bandsmer has resigned as half-time pastor to children at Central Heights MB Church in Abbotsford, B.C., effective Feb. 28, after serving for 13-and-a-half years. She has a B.Ed. from the University of British Columbia and later took some seminary courses. After graduating from university, she taught in elementary schools in Vancouver and Langley, B.C. for seven-and-a-half years. Since 1981, she and her husband Rudy, a former teacher, have operated a large raspberry farm. They have three grown children, Richard, Mike and Judy. Hildegard served on the B.C. MB Conference Board of Church Ministries for four years, and is currently a member of the MB Biblical Seminary B.C. Centre Advisory Commission. Central Heights also has another half-time pastor to children, Karen Woodard.
