The biggest fear of most parents is the loss of a child. From panic in a shopping mall to agony in the emergency ward, it can attack in a heartbeat, mocking our powerlessness in a dangerous world. But I know I am not the only parent to agonize over the vulnerability of a precious child. I am not the first parent to know a love larger than myself. My willingness to do anything, anything to save my children can only be less than what God felt for Jesus. And yet God, with the entire creation wrapped up in this only Child, still gave Jesus up for our sake. For my sake.
How God must have wept. Because God would do anything to save us.
