Pierre Gilbert has been appointed to the Christian studies department of Concord College in Winnipeg, effective September 1999. Gilbert comes to the College from Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary, Fresno, Calif., where he has taught Old Testament since 1996. He also served as academic dean 1997-98. He has a Ph.D. in Old Testament from Université de Montréal. He will teach in the bachelor of church ministries program of the Mennonite College Federation. By special arrangement between Concord and MBBS, Gilbert will give some time to represent the seminary in Canada and to teach seminary students.
Erwin Warkentin has accepted the position of academic dean at Concord, effective July 1999. He comes to the College from the German and Slavic studies department of the University of Waterloo. Besides serving as dean of the College, he will also sit on the Deans Committee of the MCF, where future programs are discussed.
